CO2 informationPeople & road traffic

It is not just the vehicle technology that influences fuel consumption and, as such, CO2 emissions. A driver’s individual style of driving can save up to 30 percent in fuel. Further influencing factors include the current traffic situation, traffic guidance systems and road surfaces.

Consumption-oriented driving

A steady and predictive style of driving reduces consumption and, as such, the level of CO2 emissions by up to 30 percent. Numerous small measures have a major effect. For example, starting the engine without touching the accelerator, not allowing the engine time to warm up and changing up early to the next gear. Checking the tyre pressure at regular intervals also helps to save fuel, since a tyre pressure of as little as 0.5 bar below what is required increases fuel consumption by 0.1 l/km. Using the air conditioning on hot summer days increases consumption by around 1.5 litre.

Electronic assistance systems

The innovative assistance systems from Audi also promote fuel-efficient driving. The dynamic navigation system also displays more fuel-efficient routes. This avoids unnecessary time spent queuing in traffic. Networking navigation systems with automatic transmissions and traffic guidance systems also holds significant potential.

Professional knowledge – Economy Training

By conducting driver training sessions, Audi imparts professional knowledge on how to drive cars economically. The Economy Training as part of the Audi driving experience has proven particularly successful. This teaches Audi drivers how to use their vehicles and fuel more efficiently.
