For the first time in 24 years, a great player has won the 1st place of the Annual Charity Golf Tournament whose prize was a magnificent Audi A1.
This year, the Winning team was integrated with Henix Joseph, Tiala Scott and Tim Mangal. All of them, members of CIBC (First Caribbean International Bank). The Rotary Club of Gros Islet Annual Charity Golf Tournament has finally celebrated! And, in this edition, the tournament was an unequivocal success proclaimed by Sponsors and Players alike, and we raised some money for Charity in the process!
This years' winner of the converted Claude Guillaume Memorial Trophy was the CIBC/FCIB team comprising Henix Joseph, Tiala Scott (a Junior from the Saint Lucia Golf Club Junior programme) and Timothy Mangal who also won the Hole in 1 prize of an Audi A1. An amazing achievement considering we have waited for almost 24 years for this to happen. That’s why we want to recognize and congratulate to Timothy Mangal on this astonishing triumph!
Doubtless, the were many huge success stories on this memorable day and none more spectacular than the success of the Junior Team sponsored by the Rotary Club of Gros Islet, as they took 2nd prize! The team comprising Quain Jones, Samuel Richelieu and Keymani Thomas is a product of the Grow Well (a RCGI project) Golf Programme under the guidance of Coleen Newman, Claire Nardoni, Susan Guillaume and all of the exceptional volunteers who invested so much time to developing the young people who pass through Grow Well.
Meanwhile, third place went to the YAMAHA team, of Kent Glace, Jeremiah Jonas and Mervin Evans. In Fourth Place was Rider Livett Bucknall with Bradley Paul, Marisa Groenewald and Dr. Naveen Urs Fifth place went to Sixt Car Rental with Romanus Inglis, Cliff Alcide and Gregory Monplaisir and sixth place went to Concept Holdings (with a +3 Golfer), Filipe del Sol, Peter Devaux and Mario Reyes.
During this edition, The Annual Charity Golf Tournament was played by thirty teams which is by far the best participation in a long time; in fact, the field was limited for lack of available players!
We also want to give an special mention to the Rotary Club of Port of Spain West, winning team of Shiva Ramlogan, Peter Chang and Anson Khan who flew in to participate and also the all ladies team from Trinidad who represented The Royal Saint Lucian Resort; Amoy Chang Fong, Pauline Raynor and Brenda Clarke. Always great to have our Trini family join in as they bring the Trini love for life along with them! Huge thank you to all of our Sponsors
